EVENING PHOTO WALK IN SENIGALLIA

In August, two new photo exhibitions have been inaugurated, free entrance within opening evening hours, 18:00-23:00, perfect for a vesperal romantic promenade

1. Foro Annonario, former fish market: Materia, il sentimento della luce

2. Rotonda al Mare: Riflessi su Senigallia

Mario Giacomelli’s works are back from their exhibition in Paris

The exhibition is the initiative of a private company, more precisely of a cooperative of stone carvers who wanted to take over and revive a traditional company, a well respected marble factory of Senigallia which had some years ago financial difficulties. The 12 stone carvers who took over the company decided to contact 9 photographers of the city in order to publish a catalog and to make an exhibition celebrating the beauty of the material they work. SENAMARMI is the name of the factory.

Yesterday Sunday, a new exhibition was inaugurated, an initiative of the local institutions, curated by three students on National Civic Service with Senigallia’s cultural department.

Original vintage documents from the Biblioteca Antonelliana and the Civica Collezione were completed from vintage rare photographs from the Atelier 41 collection, documenting the history of sea and beaches activities, starting with medical considerations and the first premises in France and Italy in the 1850s, to modern beach sunbathing and swimming in california and Normandy, 1910s and 1920s, and the Adriatic Riviera golden age starting in the 1960s.

The Rotonda with the tiny photographic exhibition will be open until October 9, the Fish Market will have soon a rotation of shows and events, the neo-classical architecture deserves a detour…
