JOIN US FOR THE PRELUDE OF THE SENIGALLIA BIENNALE, DEDICATED TO THE FIRST 150 YEARS OF PHOTOGRAPHY, 1839-1989. |

Returning in May every even year, the Bienniale celebrates the first 150 years of photography, 1839-1989.
Exhibitions dedicated to history of photography
Conference and Meetings, in English, French, Italian
Fairs (galleries, collectors)
Workshops, expert evaluation sessions, A Prize. |
In the Exhibitions section, to be held in Palazzetto Baviera and Palazzo del Duca), the photographs on display will be ancient, authentic, made in pre-digital times. |

The other forms of visual art, also daughters of photography, will be included in the sections dedicated to contemporary art, interactive and creative: film, painting, plasticine, comics, installations, performances, commemorative editions (always explicitly and respectfully linked to the history of photography and the transmission of culture and history of the past).
The theme of each Biennale will allow to offer a series of reflections and interpretations, articulated around the transmission of tangible cultural heritage, especially the photographic objects crafted during the golden period 1839-1989, between the invention of photography and the Digital dark age. |
Preceding the Biennale, every odd year, the prelude or laboratory will help precise and discuss the programm, also in the same period, also with conference, shows and exhibitions. Visitors will be invited to vote. |

The public will be invited to vote online in order to decide a theme for the next Biennale between a dozen of proposals :
– Photography records Nature, history of gardens and parks.
– Photography, Urban planning and geography.
– Photography and War, photographers in the war, registration of war history.
– Photography and the Art Market, history of Art, fakes, documentation, archeology.
– Photography for the Police, identification of criminals, crime scenes investigations.
– Photography and of Political Power, struggle, propaganda, censorship, etc… |

Senigallia station is situated since 1861 in front of the medieval palace, Rocca Roveresca, 250 metres from the beach or the Biennale, partner hotels can be reached by foot.
Many direct trains from Milan, Venice, Bologna or even Munich. Two daily trains to Rome compare with 20 daily connections with Bologna.
Situated half way between Senigallia and Ancona, Marche Airport receives daily flights from Munich (Lufthansa), Charleroi and London Stansted (Ryanair).
Comfortably reachable by frequent trains, Bologna airport is connected all the year around to most European capitals, and Philadelphia (seasonal). |
