THREE DAYS TIMED AUCTION

We are delighted to announce an exceptional three-day online auction this November, hosted in collaboration with Drouot Timed Auction.

This special event was born from the transformation of the renowned Munich gallery created by Daniel Blau, who has entrusted us with part of his remarkable photographic inventory. These works will be carefully described and presented to new collectors eager to explore the world of fine photography.

A wide selection of classic, high-quality photographs will be offered without reserve, starting at very accessible prices—an invitation for anyone wishing to begin or expand a photography collection.

The sale will unfold over three themed days:

DAY-1: SALT AND PAPER

Auction catalogue will be online tomorrow 29 October 2025

A celebration of the pioneers of photography: daguerreotypes, calotypes, paper negatives, salted paper prints, and experimental works by master photographers. Highlights include strikingly contrasted albumen prints with Orientalist subjects, delicate cyanotypes, and a remarkable ensemble of about forty original photographs by Émile Zola, along with several stunning autochromes.

DAY-2: MODERN TIMES

Auction catalogue will be online Thursday 31 October 2025

A dive into the 20th century with works by Weegee, Robert Capa, NASA photos, and other great names capturing the spirit and drama of modernity—ranging from wartime scenes to spectacular color images of American atomic experiments.

DAY-3: WOMEN’S VISION

Auction catalogue will be online Thursday 31 October 2025

The final day focuses on women photographers. The photographs from the Munich Gallery, particularly those by Margaret Bourke-White and contemporary photographers, are complemented by work prepared during the spring with ERASMUS students from Senigallia.

Collecting photography is a way of embracing a vast ocean of knowledge and emotion. While the history of photography is immense and deserves a patience which can afraid our contemporaries, choosing a theme, an era, or a process allows passionate collectors to build truly beautiful collections without consuming excess of time.

Many have done so—from the well-known Parisian lady who patiently assembled an extraordinary autochrome collection, to dedicated members of the Daguerreian Society of America, one of the world’s most active communities of photography lovers.

Three printed catalogues, each corresponding to a sale day, will be issued in limited numbers exclusively for subscribers at the price of 25 euros each plus postage. Subscription forms are provided below.
